Two Men Indicted in Rental Car Theft, Scam

The two men allegedly stole multiple luxury vehicles from Hertz's, Enterprise's, and Sixt’s Florida locations, and then sold them for cash in Massachusetts.

Two men were indicted earlier this month by an Essex County (Mass.) grand jury on multiple counts of conspiracy due to a scam prosecutors say they ran selling stolen vehicles, according to Salem News.

Robert Pagliarulo of Kingston, N.H., is charged with nine counts, including conspiracy, money laundering, selling vehicles with defaced serial numbers, receiving stolen vehicles, passing forged instruments, and selling secondhand vehicles without a used car dealer’s license. His partner in the scam, Elvis Francois of Miami, is charged with three counts of conspiracy.

The two men allegedly stole multiple luxury vehicles from Hertz's, Enterprise's, and Sixt’s Florida locations, and then sold them for cash in Massachusetts.

The seven stolen vehicles, including a 2015 BMW 528i and a 2017 Infiniti QX80, are believed to have all been sold by Pagliarulo.
