An Irish court ordered that two Lithuanian men pay over 23,000 euros ($26,000) to Hertz Rent-a-Car following a fraud investigation, according to the Irish Times.

Hertz hired private detectives as part of an investigation into a 180,000 euros ($210,000) fraud case involving the use of a rented Ford Fiesta in a staged car accident.

The incident involved the two Lithuanian men renting the Ford Fiesta and using it to collide with a Honda Civic occupied by three other men. The three men then filed individual personal injury claims totaling about 180,000 euros ($210,000).

A judge ruled in favor of Hertz after the two men failed to appear in court several times.
