Boston Mayor Martin Walsh is set to announce new transportation initiatives Thursday, including the designation of ride-hailing pick-up and drop-off zones, The Boston Globe reports.

The zones will first be designated in the Fenway neighborhood, near the dining and night life hubs. Passengers requesting a ride from Uber or Lyft between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. will be directed to a specified area to be picked up, similar to how the companies operate at airports.

The city will monitor the pilot before expanding it to other areas of the city. Representatives from both Uber and Lyft have said the companies support the pilot.
