Sharky Laguana has been appointed to ACRA's Board of Directors.
The American Car Rental Association (ACRA)’s Board of Directors has announced the newest director nominated to the board. Sharky Laguana was voted in by a unanimous affirmative vote.
“Over the past several years, ACRA has become an incredibly effective voice for the car rental industry, and I am thrilled and honored to be joining the board of directors,” said Laguana. “I have been grateful for the board’s efforts, and I am excited to be working with them on the many issues our industry faces.”

Laguana is the owner and founder of Bandago, a rental van company. When touring with his rock band Creeper Lagoon, the band’s rental van broke down and the rental company was not very helpful. Laguana had the idea to start his own van rental company.
Starting with one van in front of his apartment, Bandago has now grown to nine locations across the U.S., including Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Orlando, Portland, San Francisco, Nashville, and Chicago.
Laguana joined ACRA as a member in 2005 and became a California ambassador for ACRA in 2015. He also joined the ACRA Legal and Legislative Committee in 2015.
"His enthusiasm and work ethic will be a great asset to the board of directors," said Joe Knight, president of ACRA.
"I am looking forward to Sharky's involvement, especially with his technological knowledge that I hope to tap into,” said Sharon Faulkner, ACRA's executive director.
