Action Car Rental plans to add more than 30 new vehicles to its rental fleet this summer, including Volkswagen Jettas and Ford Mustang convertibles.

Added in response to increased rental demand, the new additions include 15 Volkswagen Jettas, five Volkswagen Passats, eight Volkswagen Routan minivans and two Ford Mustang convertibles, says the company.

In addition, Action Car Rental is also expanding its fleet of 15-passenger van rentals later next month.

“We noticed a huge increase in demand for affordable, economical vehicles during our 2013 summer rental season,” said Harry Hollander, president of Action Car Rental. “Our customers were so impressed with the German engineering behind our Volkswagen vehicles that we decided to infuse our fleet with a little extra ‘muskel.’”

The vehicles can be reserved at one of Action’s six New York City and area rental locations.
