When considering the big picture of buying and selling cars, auto dealers often treat their rental operations as an afterthought.

Between understanding each manufacturer’s loaner fleet rules, managing internal pricing and mitigating liability exposure, it’s easy to see why. And to do it right, it takes a dedicated staffer looking out for that department’s bottom line.

For most dealers, there is a lot of room for improvement — and following best practices could generate substantial operational cost savings and potential profitability.

With this in mind, Auto Rental News announces the Auto Dealer Track as part of the 2015 Auto Rental Summit. Designed specifically for auto dealers, the Auto Dealer Track will demonstrate the tenets of a successful dealer rental operation and the key pillars to profitability. Programming will also include a panel of multi-franchised dealers discussing actual challenges and solutions.

The Auto Dealer Track was initiated at the 2015 International Car Rental Show. “We not only had more dealer participants than anticipated at the Car Rental Show, their engagement was incredible,” says Chris Brown, executive editor of Auto Rental News. “We realized a gap in education specific to dealer loaner and rental programs, one that we will continue to address at Auto Rental Summit.”

Taking place Nov. 9-10, 2015 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood, Fla., Auto Rental Summit is dedicated to improving customer service and enhancing revenue of car rental operations.

The Dealer Track programming will take place on Tuesday Nov. 10 from 1:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Auto dealers can register for a special one-day (Tuesday) pass for $250.

In addition to Auto Dealer Track programming, the one-day pass allows access to the exhibit hall, breakfast and lunch with sponsors and two morning seminars: “How to Grow Your Auto Rental Business on Facebook” and “Manager Motivators: How to Get Your Top Talent to Share Your Vision.” Dealer attendees are also welcome to join the Manheim Auto Auction after-hours facility visit from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
