Avis’ Charitable Foundation Matches Funds Donated by Employees
In 2014, the Avis Budget Group Charitable Foundation matched funds raised by Avis Budget Group employees to benefit the American Cancer Society, the ALS Association and the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Avis Budget Group Charitable Foundation continues its tradition of giving by supporting organizations and causes that serve the communities. In 2014 alone, the company was able to provide grants to a wide range of organizations, including health care research, veterans' advocacy groups, children's welfare and the creative and performing arts.
"Our concern for our customers goes beyond providing them with quality service and a great rental experience," said Ronald L. Nelson, chairman and chief executive officer of Avis Budget Group. "We remain committed to supporting organizations whose efforts have a positive impact on the lives of our customers, our employees and our families."
As a highlight, the foundation matched funds raised by Avis Budget Group employees to benefit the American Cancer Society, the ALS Association and the Wounded Warrior Project. Additionally, more than 1,000 Avis Budget Group employees worldwide participated in the ALS Association's "Ice Bucket Challenge," according to the company.
In 2014, other organizations receiving support from the Avis Budget Group Charitable Foundation include the March of Dimes Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Jackie Robinson Foundation, Family Promise Inc., the Museum of the City of New York and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
