Avis Sued After Vehicle Fire Leaves 1 Dead
The family of the man is also suing Kia Motors.

The family of an Oklahoma man who died after a Kia Soul he rented from Avis caught fire is suing the car rental agency and the automaker, KJRH reports.
The man, Jordan Carlton, and his wife, Becky, were driving the rental vehicle in Hawaii in June 2019 when it burst into flames. Becky escaped with minor injuries, but Jordan had to be airlifted to the burn unit in Dallas where he eventually died from his injuries over a year later.
According to the news source, this is not the first time a Kia Soul has burst into flames. In 2017, a parked vehicle caught fire and killed the man inside.
The trial is set to begin in February.
