Beijing’s city legislature passed new regulations that will impound vehicles and fine drivers who are found to be operating illegal ride-hailing services in the city, The Standard reports.
The legislation, which goes into effect July 1, grants authorities the power to suspend a driver’s license for three to six months if he or she is caught violating the new law two or more times.
Last week, China’s Ministry of Transport announced stricter regulations on ride-hailing platforms and drivers that go into effect tomorrow.
