Blackline GPS Corp., a developer of products and services for worker safety monitoring and portable business tracking, is creating a new, wholly-owned subsidiary – Blackline GPS Europe Ltd.

Located in Colchester, Essex, U.K, Blackline GPS Europe will be positioned to target the key European, Middle Eastern and African markets (EMEA), says the company.

“Establishing our first international office in the U.K. and Europe marks a significant milestone for the company,” says Cody Slater, CEO and chairman of Blackline GPS. “Opening May 1 of this year, our new location will enable Blackline to better serve companies in this region that hold employees and their safety as a top priority.”

In addition, Gavin Boorman has been appointed the managing director of Blackline GPS Europe. Formerly the European managing director for BW Technologies, Boorman brings more than 25 years of experience in the safety industry to this role.

“We have seen significant interest in the Blackline offering throughout EMEA and already have a number of major projects in the pipeline,” said Boorman. “Blackline’s unique technology offering — together with a strong regulatory environment within EMEA and increasing awareness of the need to protect lone workers — suggest that the time is right to create the local office and realize this opportunity.”

Blackline’s Loner Employee Safety Monitoring solutions are person-worn devices that alert their employer and monitoring personnel of potential risks to the health and safety of employees, including injuries and health incidents, says the company. These products communicate via cellular networks with operation in over 80 countries.
