The UK government plans to roll out a vehicle excise tax in 2017 that will result in an increase for car rental companies.
Car rental companies in the UK are expected to experience a tax increase after a vehicle excise tax goes into effect in 2017, according to an article by AnythingForHire.com.
The article reported the new tax will only affect cars registered after April 2017. Because car rental companies account for a majority of new car purchases in the UK (most of which are ultra-low emission vehicles), the tax may adversely affect the region’s green efforts.
