General Motors is recalling 32,913 2016 model-year Cruze cars because their headlights might have been improperly aimed during service, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
The cars were manufactured from Nov. 5, 2015, to May 26, 2016.
The headlight assemblies for these cars aren’t marked with a three-digit identifier code that’s used to properly aim the headlights, NHTSA explained on its website. As a result, headlights may be incorrectly aimed during service. This problem could reduce nighttime visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
GM will mail out instructions and adhesive labels, with the correct code, to install on the headlight assemblies. Owners may also bring their vehicle to a GM dealership for assistance on the matter, free of charge.
Vehicle owners can reach the Chevrolet customer service department at (800) 222-1020. GM’s number for this recall is 50190.
