Easirent has opened a branch near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, continuing the rapid expansion of its short-term car rental business, according to CEO Paul Hanley.

The new office represents the Fort Lauderdale company’s fifth Texas location, an office connected to the airport by an 11-minute ride on a free shuttle. It’s also near the I-35, according to branch manager Jonel Decius. Locating Easirent branches near, but not at, airports generates a savings the company passes on to customers, says Hanley.

Hanley encourages customers to pre-check-in before pick-up, which allows them to be on their way in a much shorter time.

“Unlike the airport, it is unusual to have large lines, so even if customers choose not to pre-check-in, they are still on their way quicker than if they were at the airport,” he added.

Customers can choose from an array of vehicles: economy cars, family sedans, luxury cars and SUVs. “We operate the newest, most reliable cars in the rental market,” says Hanley, “all with less than 40,000 miles.”

The addition of the Austin site allows the company to share cars between branches at Houston Bush, Houston Hobby, Dallas-Ft. Worth and Dallas Love.

Easirent operates 14 locations across three states and has a fleet of 4,000 vehicles. It has Florida branches serving Jacksonville, West Palm, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, Ft. Myers, Tampa and St. Petersburg. In Texas, Easirent serves Houston, Dallas and Austin. There is a 14th branch located near the Charlotte, NC airport.
