Egypt's top court ruled in favor of ride-hailing services Saturday, lifting a ban imposed by a lower court, according to Middle East Online.
The lower court's March ruling suspended ride-hailing service in the country after taxi drivers filed an unfair competition complaint. However, Uber and Careem, the two most popular ride-hailing apps in the country, never fully suspended their operations, as President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi signed a law legalizing their services in June.
The decision by the Supreme Court cannot be reversed.
