Europcar Implements Plan to Address DVLA’s Elimination of Paper License
Europcar has introduced new initiatives to help its customers comply with the new license requirements set by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in the UK.

In order to help UK customers pick up their rental cars once the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) abolishes the paper counterpart of the driving license on June 8, Europcar has implemented new additions to the rental process.
Customers will now receive text and email reminders about retrieving their code no sooner than 72 hours before picking up their rental and will also have access to a 24-hour helpline if they need assistance.
Europcar also added tablet devices with Internet access at its 250 branches across the UK, allowing customers to retrieve their code at the Europcar branch.
“As Europe’s largest rental provider, Europcar aims to adapt to any changes in driving laws or regulations so that our customers can get on their journey as easily as possible,” said Ken McCall, managing director of Europcar UK Group. “We are also continuing to work with the DVLA to try to find a solution that will mean our customers don’t need to go through the inconvenience of having to get a code for us to access their driving license details.”
