The world’s first fuel cell powered zero-emission car sharing service will be launched in Munich this summer, and it will feature a fleet of Hyundai’s ix35 Fuel Cell vehicles.

"The new BeeZero car sharing offer is pioneering sustainable mobility," said Thomas A. Schmid, COO at Hyundai Motor Europe. "Featuring the Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell, BeeZero will not only be the first car sharing service using hydrogen-powered zero-emission cars, but will also offer comfortable and reliable transportation for the public's everyday needs."

The car sharing service will operate on a zone-based model. The vehicles in the service will be available in Munich’s city center as well as several other locations in Germany, and they can be booked online or via a smartphone app

The Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell, the world's first mass-produced and commercially available fuel cell electric vehicle, can travel about 373 miles on a single tank, according to the company.

Hydrogen fuel for BeeZero is sourced from sustainable production processes, making it completely carbon neutral. BeeZero is a newly founded subsidiary of The Linde Group.
