Fleet Sales Barely Staying Up Over 2024 Trend
Rental fleets again took the monthly spotlight among the three fleet sectors.

Commercial and government fleet sales declined in October while rental fleet sales rose, according to Bobit Business Media fleet numbers released on Nov.3.
Combined, the three fleet sectors in October totaled 154,302 vehicles sold, for a micro-shave of .6% off the 155,157 vehicles sold in October 2024.
Rental fleets continued their streak of supporting overall fleet sales, keeping the year-to-date totals in positive territory.
Broken down by fleet sector:
Commercial fleet sales numbered 53,370 vehicles in October compared to 59,186 in October 2024, for a dip of 9.8%.
Rental fleets bought 80,143 vehicles, up 10.7% from 72,407 rental cars sold in October 2024.
Government fleet sales declined 11.8%, from 23,564 vehicles in October 2024 to 20,789 last month. [Government fleet totals included only numbers from Ford, GM, Stellantis, Kia, and Mazda].
Total fleet sales YTD as of Oct. 31 stood at 1,857,140 vehicles sold, up a slight 2.8% from the 1,807,057 vehicles sold in the first 10 months of 2024.
Bobit Business Media (BBM), owner of Automotive Fleet, Vehicle Remarketing, Government Fleet, and Auto Rental News, compiles fleet sales numbers that reflect aggregate figures from the three major Detroit-based auto manufacturers and the Asian Big 6 automakers. The statistics include cars, SUVs, and trucks.
