General Motors is offering huge incentives to dealers in an effort to unload Pontiac and Saturn cars from existing inventories and boost its December sales, according to the Wall Street Journal.
In a letter to dealers, GM said it would offer $7,000 for every new Saturn or Pontiac sold to dealers and then moved to rental-vehicle or service-vehicle fleets. Under this plan, the vehicles would be classified as used cars when sold to customers, since the dealers were the first owners.
