Google Releases 2012’s Top Search Terms, Travel Destinations
Toronto, Paris and San Juan were the top three international travel destinations on the United States’ most searched list, according to the Google Zeitgeist 2012.
Google released the top 2012 search trends categorized by country, including the most searched travel destinations, in its Zeitgeist 2012.
Toronto, Canada topped the United States’ list of most searched international travel destinations followed by Paris and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The rest of the list includes Cancun, Vancouver, Rome, Montreal, Tokyo, St. Thomas Island and San Jose del Cabo.
The United States was No. 1 on Norway’s most searched destinations.
The United Kingdom’s list included Rio de Janeiro, Greece, Brazil, Dubai, Paris, London, Bruges, Cornwall, Edinburgh and Barcelona.
Barcelona was also featured on Spain, Ireland and Germany’s lists. Spain had a range of destinations on its list including London, Paris, Mexico, San Francisco, Barcelona, Turkey, Israel, Berlin, Los Angeles and Madrid.
Google studies more one trillion searches (or queries) that people typed into Google Search in 2012 to create the Zeitgeist. The top search worldwide in 2012 was Whitney Houston.
