Hertz Appoints Managing Director for Germany
The Hertz Corp. has appointed Rafael Girona as the new managing director for Hertz Germany.
The Hertz Corp. has appointed Rafael Girona as the new managing director for Hertz Germany. Girona will be based in Eschborn, Germany, and will report to Michel Taride, group president of Hertz International.
Elyes Mrad who has been serving as interim managing director will continue in his position as vice president for sales and marketing at Hertz International, says the company.
With more than 26 years of experience in the car rental industry, Girona has served as a group chief operating officer for Europcar since 2001, where he led several acquisitions, partnerships and transformational projects. Prior to 2001, he served in operating roles in various countries.
"Germany is the largest car rental market in Europe,” says Taride. “Rafael's proven leadership skills, vast experience and profound understanding of the car rental business and travel industry will be invaluable as we continue to develop our operations in the country."
