The Hertz Corporation appointed Kenneth Seavey as president of off-airport operations. With more than 1,700 locations, the $1 billion off-airport rental business focuses on insurance replacement, leisure and commercial rentals in urban and suburban markets across the country.

Seavey will be based at Hertz's corporate headquarters in Park Ridge, N.J.

"Kent's appointment reflects the profitable growth of our U.S. off-airport business. With Hertz's commitment to opening up 150 new locations this year alone, it was imperative that we appointed a senior level manager to help us drive plans to accelerate growth over the next few years," said Scott P. Sider, Hertz executive vice president and president, car rental and leasing, the Americas.

"Kent's vast experience with Hertz's operations coupled with his proven management capability over a 20-year career here at Hertz, makes him the right choice to lead our North American off-airport business," Sider added.

Seavey was most recently Hertz's division vice president, North America operations support, overseeing several aspects of the daily operations, including ancillary product sales, executive customer relations, automotive services and process excellence. In that role, he provided support for most aspects of the North America on- and off-airport operations and simultaneously served as vice president, North America franchise operations during this period.

Seavey holds a B.S. degree from North Carolina State University.
