Hertz will honor our nation's military heroes at this year's Greenbrier Classic, a PGA TOUR event taking place from July 1 to 7. As part of the Hertz for Heroes program, Hertz will make a contribution to Paralyzed Veterans of America, a leading advocate for research and education, benefits and civil rights for people with disabilities and their families in order to be productive members of society.

"Hertz is proud to partner with The Greenbrier Classic for the third consecutive year and honor our nation's paralyzed veterans," said Mark P. Frissora, Hertz chairman and chief executive officer. "We established the Hertz for Heroes program to recognize those defending our country and the inspired patriotism that accompanies their service. Our partnership with the Greenbrier, America's Resort, celebrates and gives back to those veterans who have fought and made significant personal sacrifices for our freedoms."

The Hertz for Heroes Greenbrier Classic initiative includes a charitable contribution to Paralyzed Veterans of America — $10 for every birdie, $50 for every eagle and $500 for every hole-in-one recorded during the 2013 Greenbrier Classic by PGA Tour professionals (guaranteeing up to $20,000 through Sunday July 7), according to Hertz.

Launched in 2011, Hertz for Heroes — a project initiated by Hertz employees with military backgrounds — started when the company donated 40,000 free weekend rentals to vets returning home from overseas. Hertz for Heroes expanded when the company joined the White House's veteran's hiring initiative, Joining Forces, led by first lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden.
