Kyte, an app-based rental system that delivers vehicles to customers, has expanded its service to the East Coast by launching in Boston.

Currently, Kyte has a fleet of 50 vehicles in Boston and plans to expand to meet customer demand.

Serving as a platform that connects rental car company fleets to customers, Kyte provides a contactless, digital experience where a customer can do everything from verifying a driver’s license to signing a rental agreement from a smartphone.

Users book their rental vehicles on Kyte’s app or online portal. Then a Kyte team member delivers the vehicle to the customer within an hour window of the time requested. Vehicles can be rented long term or by the day.

“The entire process was so seamless that it almost felt too easy,” said Esteban Yepez, a Kyte customer in Cambridge. “The amount of time I saved by not having to go to a car rental site and wait there was great. Especially now during these difficult times, being able to receive my rental at home was so appreciated.”

Founded in 2019, Kyte also operates in San Francisco and Los Angeles with a fleet of over 500 vehicles. The company plans to add another East Coast city by the end of the year.
