New Car Rental Regulations Introduced in Malta
The Ministry for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications, as well as representatives from the car rental and travel industry introduced a draft of new regulations that would affect the car rental sector in Malta. The public is able to comment on the proposal until Aug. 10.
According to The Times of Malta, the car rental sector in the European country, Malta, may face a new set of regulations from the Ministry for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications to regulate rental cars on the road.
Transport Malta, car rental companies represented by the Rent-a-Car Association, government agencies and other travel organizations published a set of draft regulations that establish several responsibilities for those operating a car rental company. The regulations outline liabilities, penalties such as the ability to revoke the license to operate, vehicle standards, consumer rights and insurance regulations, as well as record-keeping guidelines.
The public can submit feedback on the draft regulations up until Aug. 10.
