Lawmakers in Oklahoma are considering how to regulate the peer-to-peer carsharing industry in the state, according to the Insurance Journal.
House Bill 3655 would establish formal regulations and taxes, such as insuring all vehicles have proper insurance. It would also clarify that all p2p rentals are subject to the Oklahoma Vehicle Rental Tax and Oklahoma sales taxes.
Under this bill, users would be able to pick up and drop off p2p vehicles at Oklahoma airports as long as the p2p agency and the airport have a valid rental agreement.
