Rapper Beanie Siegel will turn himself in next week to Philadelphia police, where he will face charges in a squabble over a rental car, the Associated Press reports.

Investigators stated that Sigel, nee Dwight Grant, rented a 2007 Nissan Altima in July from the southwest Philadelphia Payless Car Rental. Sigel, however, did not return the vehicle on the Aug. 13 due date, nor did he contact the company to explain the whereabouts of the car.

Sept. 6, Payless reported the car stolen although they continued to charge the rapper’s credit card. The car was returned to the rental company Oct. 5. It had accrued $5,000 in late charges.

According to the AP, Sigel’s attorney says, “Apparently there was some misunderstanding over when it was to be returned or whether or not payment was continuing to be paid. The car has been returned, and whatever money is owed to the company has been paid or will be paid shortly.”
