Sabre and Avis Partner to Offer Ancillary Products
Sabre Travel Network and Avis Budget Group have teamed up to provide rental customers with the option to rent additional products (GPS device, child safety seats) through Sabre-connected travel agents.
Sabre Travel Network, a global technology company, and Avis Budget Group Inc. have teamed up to provide Avis Car Rental and Budget Car Rental customers the option to rent ancillary products through Sabre-connected travel agents worldwide.
The "car extras" merchandising capability can be shopped, booked and confirmed in the Sabre Red Workspace, says Avis. Travel agents can now clearly identify the products offered — Global Positioning System (GPS) devices, ski racks and child safety seats — along with the pricing for each, and receive booking confirmation.
"Merchandising through the Sabre travel marketplace provides Avis Budget Group with the ability to market and sell special equipment to the broadest audience of global travelers," said Shelly Terry, vice president, supplier merchandising for Sabre Travel Network. "This will help them meet their customer loyalty goals and maximize sales while also enabling efficient, comprehensive comparison shopping for travelers."
"We continuously seek out ways to improve our customer experience and are pleased to leverage Sabre's new merchandising capabilities," said Jeannine Haas, chief marketing officer, North America, Avis Budget Group. "Having the ability to provide GPS devices, ski racks and child safety seats through Sabre allows us to provide a more personalized rental experience for our customers."
