In some South American countries, car rental operators also handle long-term corporate rentals, which are more commonly termed “commercial fleet” in North America.
Mike Antich, editor and associate publisher of Automotive Fleet, a sister fleet publication of Auto Rental News, has put together this assessment of the commercial fleet markets in several South American countries.
For each country, there is a summary of fleet market conditions, size of the fleet market, fleet acquisition practices, fuel price trends, the used-vehicle market, interest rates and taxation, maintenance trends and a forecast for 2016.

At the Latin American Meeting to be held at the 2016 International Car Rental Show, Antich will present the seminar “Trends in U.S. Commercial Fleet Market.” The seminar will provide an analysis of current market conditions, funding and operating cost trends as well as a remarketing forecast and a preview of emerging technologies that will impact fleet management.
