Hertz unveiled its redesigned and updated rental facility at the San Diego International Airport with features such as virtual kiosks, on-site retail store, on-site charging station with iPads, “wow ramps” displaying Hertz’s unique rentals and an on-site FedEx station.
Nissan held a ride and drive in San Diego in June to showcase its 2013 Nissan NV200 small cargo van.

Photos by Joanne Tucker, associate editor for Auto Rental News At the first-ever Auto Rental Summit, car rental managers, executives and employees at companies across the globe convened for this two-day training and education conference designed to improve customer service and enhance revenue of car rental operations. In addition to the event, winners of the Auto Rental News Professional of the Year awards were announced. The awards were sponsored by American Express. Volkswagen held its second-ever fleet preview event near its headquarters of Herndon, Va. on June 18-20.
Chrysler gathered its largest fleet buyers in Savannah, Ga. June 4-6 for its annual fleet preview.
Designated shuttle buses will operate 24 hours a day at the Sea-Tac Airport to take passengers to the new facility. There will be two passenger pick-up areas located outside baggage claim at the north and south ends of the main terminal.
