Green Motion, a global eco-friendly rental car service, has expanded its franchise network into the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the country’s most populous state and important economic region.
The franchise, to open soon at the Cologne Bonn Airport, is owned and operated by Şahin Ertürk, Alperen Ertürk, and Abdulkadir Ertürk, a trio of experienced business professionals with a proven track record in the car rental industry. Together, they bring a wealth of expertise and a shared passion for environmentally conscious mobility solutions.
Alperen Ertürk, one of the new franchise owners, said in a Jan. 17 news release: “As a team, we are deeply committed to sustainability. With Green Motion’s strong brand values and innovative approach, we are confident that our location will thrive in this dynamic market.”
Green Motion founder and CEO Richard Lowden added, “Their extensive experience in the car rental sector and dedication to sustainability make them the perfect partners to represent Green Motion in North Rhine-Westphalia.”
The German state, home to the cities of Cologne and Duesseldorf, the capital, has been one of the most sought-after investment locations for foreign companies, according to MBEIM.NRW, a federal government website. It has a population of 18 million.
The new franchise will provide customers with various vehicles, including hybrid and electric models, all designed to minimize environmental impact while maintaining comfort and affordability.
The launch underscores Green Motion’s push to expand across Europe and increase sustainable travel. It opened its first German operation in Q1 2023 in Munich.
With operations in over 70 countries worldwide, Green Motion has been globally recognized for its environmentally focused business model, innovative technologies, and dedication to reducing the carbon footprint of car rental services.
Green Motion will be a platinum sponsor and exhibitor at this year’s International Car Rental Show at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino from April 14-16.
