Green Motion Expansion Hits 70 Countries
The global car rental giant has stuck with its entrepreneurial business model since 2007.

CEO Richard Lowden said the company remains as focused on adding new markets as it is on growing within markets.

Green Motion, the environmentally focused vehicle rental franchise system, recently achieved the landmark of expanding its brand into 70 countries across six continents with more than 600 locations.
It has come a long way since launching with one franchise location in 2007 in the United Kingdom.
"When I look back to 2007 it was merely a dream to imagine that Green Motion would succeed to this level," said Richard Lowden, the founder and CEO of Green Motion, in a Nov. 6 news release. "While hitting 70 countries is a tremendous accomplishment, we are still of a mindset where our work has barely begun. We remain as focused as ever on the continued expansion of the brand in terms of new markets but more importantly expanding within market. Our quest is to make sure that all of our customers has the location of their choice on demand."
Green Motion has stayed committed to its franchise-only model with all of its destinations supported by an entrepreneurial business, which distinguishes its business model from some of the other major rental brands that combine corporate-owned and franchised locations.
