Product and Vendor News: microGreen’s New Extended Drain Oil Filters Can Reduce Oil Use by 70%
Extensive testing has been done on the product including 20 million miles of oil analysis and more than 300 million miles of on-road use.

The microGreen Extended Performance Oil Filter, developed by SOMS Technologies, is a spin-on oil filter that can be used in most vehicles. It uses patented technology to filter oil down to two microns, drastically increasing the amount of time between oil changes.
Traditionally, motor oil and oil filters are changed four or more times per year in fleets. microGreen’s oil filter meets customer demand for products that save them time and money by not needing replacement or maintenance as often. When the vehicle is serviced, the oil is changed and the microGreen filter is installed. At every other oil change interval, the microGreen filter is changed, but the oil remains in the engine and is simply “topped-up” if necessary.
With extended intervals, fleets can save $120 per year on oil changes and reduce oil use by 70%, according to microGreen. Extensive testing has been done on the product including 20 million miles of oil analysis and more than 300 million miles of on-road use.
