The Arizona state senate has pushed forward a bill that would regulate peer-to-peer carsharing, Tuscon.com reports.
SB 1305 would set standards for carsharing issues such as insurance and safety. Supporters of the bill say it's necessary to regulate carsharing to ensure people are not driving around in unsafe vehicles.
The bill also deals with issues of taxation. Peer-to-peer carsharing group Turo said that it supports regulatory efforts, but objects to being taxed and treated like traditional car rental companies.
