Customers can shop online at www.avis.com or www.budget.com and schedule their "ultimate test drive" to drive a vehicle of their choice, according to Avis Budget. The ultimate test drives are free-of-charge for two hours or can be as long as three days for a nominal rental fee.

If the customer decides to purchase the vehicle, the base rental fee will be refunded after the purchase is completed, according to Avis Budget.

"We are committed to providing customers with the best experience — whether they are renting one of vehicles or purchasing one from us," said Joe Ferraro, president, Americas, Avis Budget Group. "We encourage those in Connecticut and New York to take advantage of the convenience that our program has to offer and shop online today. We make the car-buying experience as stress-free as possible."

The car sales program is also available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.

It features more than 100 vehicle makes and models, including BMW, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Kia, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen.
