Avis Budget Recognized for Support of Women-Owned Businesses
Avis Budget Group was honored for supplier diversity programs that provide women's business enterprises equal access to corporate contracts.
For the eighth consecutive year, Avis Budget Group, Inc., a provider of vehicle rental services, has been named one of America's Top Corporations for Women's Business Enterprises by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
"Avis Budget Group leads the travel industry in its support of strategic supplier diversity programs and the growth of women-owned businesses," said Linda Denny, president and chief executive officer of WBENC. "The company's forward thinking and commitment to creating a level playing field for women's businesses to compete for corporate accounts is a tribute to its leadership."
Avis Budget Group was one of 16 U.S. corporations honored in 2007 for supplier diversity programs that provide women's business enterprises equal access to corporate contracts. Other honorees include AT&T, Bank of America, The Coca-Cola Company, IBM Corporation, UPS and Verizon.
