Avis Budget Selects OEConnection's CollisionLink
The new technology will allow the car rental company to lower costs by speeding the return of damaged vehicles back into service.
OEConnection LLC recently announced that Avis Budget Group, Inc. has selected its CollisionLink technology to provide faster and more accurate online ordering of original equipment collision parts.
The new system is expected to lower costs by speeding the return of damaged vehicles back into service at Avis Budget Group's airport locations that manage their own vehicle damage estimates.
When rental cars are returned with collision damage, Avis Budget staff use vehicle estimating systems to identify the necessary parts and labor for the repair. In the past, contracted collision shops retrieved the vehicle, ordered the parts and then commenced with repairs.
Using CollisionLink, Avis Budget staff now adds the ordering of parts to their estimate creation process, so when cars reach the collision shops, in most cases, the parts have already arrived and vehicle repairs can begin almost immediately.
