PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Avis Rent A Car has returned its "Drive Free" promotion, rewarding customers with a free weekend rental after they rent three times between Sept. 7 and Dec. 16, 2004.
To earn the free rental, customers must register for the promotion online at www.avis.com or through the Avis reservation center (800) 722-5909. Regardless of when customers register during the promotion, all rentals completed during the promotional period, including those booked under corporate rates, will apply toward the free weekend. Rentals completed at participating locations in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands will also apply.
"Last year, enthusiastic customer response to 'Drive Free' proved to us they really value receiving a free rental," said Scott Deaver, executive vice president of marketing for Cendant Car Rental Group, the parent company of Avis. "Long-time renters, loyal corporate customers and first-time renters all took advantage of the chance to 'Drive Free' so we're pleased to bring it back for a second year to give customers another valuable reason to rent with Avis."
All car classes count toward the free weekend. Customers must have a valid Wizard number to participate. The free weekend certificate can be used on rentals commencing no later than May 15, 2005. Certificates are valid at participating locations in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands only, but cannot be redeemed at any Manhattan locations, including JFK, LaGuardia and Newark airports.
Certain general blackout dates apply. Free weekend certificates will be mailed automatically within 30 days of a third rental. Optional products (such as refueling and insurances), taxes, concession, consolidated facility ($10/contract in California) and other surcharges may apply to the free rental. Full terms and conditions can be found on www.avis.com.
