PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Cendant Car Rental Group has launched a private-label booking engine for travel partners featuring Avis and Budget. The booking engine serves up a side-by-side comparison of Avis and Budget car rental options, while keeping consumers on the partner's Web site.

Cendant Car Rental Group can customize the booking engine to blend well with the look-and-feel of any travel partner's Web site. The booking engine also adheres to the OpenTravel Alliance (OTA) specification.

America West Airlines is the first partner to use the booking engine for Avis and Budget. America West customers can now book a rental car from Avis or Budget while on www.americawest.com. Customers can view car rental options specific to their arrival location, time and vehicle preferences.

"The booking engine provides travel suppliers with a great way to streamline the travel planning process for their customers," said Scott Deaver, executive vice president of marketing for Cendant Car Rental Group, parent of Avis and Budget.

"The Avis and Budget booking engine has been very well received," said Chris Stanley, senior director of Internet and reservation systems distribution for America West. "It was simple to integrate, the performance is great and revenue on the site has increased."
