Driver of Stolen Enterprise SUV Leads High-Speed Chase
California Highway Patrol spots vehicle stolen from Anaheim, and stops it in San Diego.
Enterprise Leasing called the California Highway Patrol on April 18 to report that one of its vehicles, a white GMC Yukon, had been stolen from Anaheim, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Later that day, a CHP sergeant saw the vehicle in the East Los Angeles area, but when he tried to stop it, the driver began a high-speed chase.
The driver, an unidentified woman thought to be from the Los Angeles area, drove at speeds between 80 and 110 mph, weaving her way through traffic. The chase ended in San Diego County after the SUV hit a spike strip, causing a puncture in the right front tire.
The driver will probably be charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and auto theft, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
