ST. LOUIS -- Enterprise Rent-A-Car announced that on behalf of its 50,000 employees worldwide, the company will donate $1 million to the disaster relief efforts in New York and Washington, D.C.
The donation will be made by the company's charitable arm, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation. In keeping with the foundation's tradition of giving to local organizations that Enterprise employees support, the company will work with Enterprise's management in New York and Washington, D.C., to determine how the funds will be distributed to local charities.
In addition to the donation, the company is extending its no-drop-fee policy on one-way rentals through Friday, Sept. 21. This extension is in response to the many calls the company has received from customers who are still in need of one-way transportation. The amended policy applies to all customers with an open Enterprise rental contract from Sept. 11 through Sept. 21, 2001.
Customers should contact one of the more than 4,300 U.S. Enterprise offices directly at 1-800-Rent-A-Car to see if a one-way rental can be arranged. In addition, any Enterprise customer who incurred a one-way drop fee on or after Sept. 11, 2001 will have the cost of the drop fee refunded over the next month.
