For the second year, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is pledging $1 million to the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP), an effort supported by U.S. corporations that allows the Red Cross to access funds at a moment’s notice when natural disasters strike.
The gift is part of an annual, multi-million-dollar commitment by the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation to fund Red Cross emergency preparedness and relief efforts, according to the company.
“As a global organization, we understand how important the Red Cross is to people and organizations across the world,” said Carolyn Kindle, Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation’s vice president and executive director. “We continue to support its efforts to provide comfort and care to communities during their times of need.”
Additionally, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation donated $125,000 to support Red Cross disaster relief efforts aiding those impacted by massive flooding in Houston, Missouri, and North Carolina this past year.
“Ongoing financial support from ADGP members helps create a reliable funding base for disaster relief services, providing food, shelter, emotional support, and other essential assistance,” said David Staszak, chief development officer of the Red Cross. “Money donated by the public and ADGP is essential to our ability to assist disaster survivors and support the first responders and volunteers who work tirelessly at the scene of a disaster.”
