Europcar Names New CEO and Board Chairman
Roland Keppler has directed Europcar’s German subsidiary since 2009 and will succeed Philippe Guillemot as CEO.
Roland Keppler has been appointed CEO for Europcar, succeeding Philippe Guillemot, according to a company press release. Keppler has directed Europcar’s German subsidiary — which represents about 30% of Europcar’s revenues — since 2009. He also helped to launch projects such as car2go urban mobility.
Keppler began his career in 1992 as controller at Preussag AG, before joining airline Hapag Lloyd in 2002, where he was appointed finance director of its Hapag Lloyd Express company. He was appointed CEO in 2005 and was named CEO of TUIfly in 2007. In 2009, he was appointed CEO of Europcar’s German subsidiary.
The company also announced Jean-Charles Pauze has been appointed chairman of the board. He was previously CEO of energy solutions provider Rexel, in which the company doubled in size during his tenure.
Pauze served as CEO of Alfa Laval Industrie from 1981 to 1984 and later joined Strafor Facom in 1986 as chairman and CEO of Clestra-Hausermann. He became chairman of the board of Rexel S.A. in 2007.
The appointments became effective Feb. 14, 2012.
