A record third quarter is in the books for The Hertz Corporation and it shows revenues in excess of $1.43 billion. This equates to an increase of 6.9% overall, or $93 million.
Worldwide vehicle rental and leasing revenue in the third quarter hit the $1.16 billion mark. This is an increase of 5.7% compared to the third quarter of 1999.
Domestic vehicle rental, including both airport and suburban markets, totaled $864.8 million, an increase of 7.7%. Hertz revenue in suburban marked grew sharply, showing a 32.7% increase. Airport business also is up. The company’s rental revenue at its airport car rental operations is up 5.5% with transaction day growth up 5.9%. However, revenue per day growth is down just slightly, by 0.4%.
