Iceland has opened its first electric car rental service, according to a report by the Iceland Review. Known as Electric Carrental, 21-year-old entrepreneur Aoalsteinn Larus Skulason has started the company.

Currently, Electric Carrental only has four electric cars available for rent (including a Nissan Leaf), but plans to add more cars to the fleet in the spring, according to the report.

This is the first Iceland-based car rental company specializing in electric vehicles, the Iceland Transport Authority told the Iceland Review.

“The ideas is to market the hire company to those who want to go all the way in [terms of] a green lifestyle,” Skulason told the Iceland Review. “Many tourists come here because of the clean air and environment. These are tourists who care about the planet and are conscious of pollution.”
