On Nov. 2, the Las Vegas City Council approved unanimously to reallocate funding that had been set for the construction of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts (PAC), according to the council’s online video of the meeting and supporting documents. Now that the center is coming “on budget,” the city is able to move $1.5 million in excess funding from the rental car contingency fund.
The reallocation will still be benefitting the PAC, in which $500,000 of the rental car contingency fund will go toward furniture, fixtures and equipment, and then another $1 million will be “withdrawn” from the fund and will “be distributed to PAC,” the supporting documents state.
