Construction on Los Angeles International Airport’s 6.3-million-square-foot Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility (ConRAC) continued in the first quarter of 2022.

Over the winter, LAX ConRAC Partners made more progress at the site of the future ConRAC facility, including the last structural concrete pours and preparing the customer service buildings for tenant fit-outs.

According to Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), completed tasks include continued installation of elevators and escalators, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work for Ready Return/Idle Storage and Quick Turn Around buildings, continued work at the bus plaza area, and completion of the Ready Return/Idle Storage building north and south speed ramps and Quick Turn Around building ramps and bridges.

In second quarter of 2022, expected projects on the ConRAC include:

  • Continued construction of the customer service buildings in the Ready Return/Idle Storage building.

  • Expected completion of the Ready Return/Idle Storage building’s façade coverings.

  • Continued installation of elevators and escalators.

  • Start of landscaping with installation of trees at the Ready Return/Idle Storage building customer service plaza.

The facility is one of the major components of LAX’s $5.5 billion Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP), which will improve access to LAX, provide new pick-up/drop-off options for travelers, and provide the long-awaited connection to regional transportation.
