ATLANTA --- Manheim’s Total Resource Auctions hosted the largest rental salvage and damaged vehicle sale in its history Sept. 15.
Approximately 200 buyers from 14 states and one Canadian province bid in the two-lane sale at the American Auto Auction in Boston.
Up for grabs were more than 425 salvage and inoperable vehicles from commercial and dealer consignors, including Hertz, Enterprise and Cendant Car Rental Group.
It was estimated that attendance climbed to three times the usual turnout. Three-quarters of buyers at the lanes competed against buyers bidding online via Simulcast.
Total Resource Auctions allows buyers and sellers to securely move damaged, inoperative and salvage vehicles through selected Manheim locations and Web-based products, including Simulcast and Online Vehicle Exchange. As many as four more locations are expected to be added by year’s end.
