As the summer travel season approaches, Advantage Rent a Car—offering consumers more choices in value priced car rentals—has opened 15 locations in 13 major leisure destinations across the country, including: Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Orlando, Palm Springs, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, Seattle, and Tucson. Additionally, the company plans to open in six additional leisure markets by mid-July.

Advantage lets travelers hit the road in comfort for a fraction of the cost of traditional car rental companies. Situated in key leisure destinations across the country, Advantage offers renters good, clean cars at affordable prices. As of June 2, 2009 rates on advantage.com were as low as $99 for a one-week rental of a midsize car in Tucson and $126 for one week rental of an economy car in Orlando (rates listed are base rates only and do not include taxes and fees. Rates are subject to availability and may change). Advantage offers an easy-to-use Web site for reservation (www.advantage.com), accepts reservations from all major online travel agencies—including CheapTickets, Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline retail, and Travelocity—and from traditional travel agents.

“In these tough economic times, leisure travel remains surprisingly resilient with the Travel Industry Association predicting that Americans will take 322 million domestic leisure trips this summer,” commented Gary Fulena, vice president, Operations Advantage Rent a Car. “While Americans continue to keep a close watch on their discretionary spending, they are looking to maximize their dollars while on the road and the timing couldn't be more appropriate for the opening of Advantage Rent a Car locations throughout the country.”

“The Travel Industry Association also predicts that consumers will continue to comparison shop this summer, especially online, to save money. And, with 60 percent of leisure travelers booking car rental online, Advantage will be a key player by allowing customers to easily reserve and rent cars at prices that are extremely competitive in the low cost rental segment,” concluded Fulena.

Designed for online customers looking for a lower priced rental car, Advantage makes car rental economical and hassle-free. Customers can reserve one of the seven vehicle types offered (from economy to full-size cars plus SUV’s and Minivans). When arriving at Advantage, the customer simply selects a few additional options—such as child seats or GPS and insurance/waiver options—a vehicle is assigned and the rental transaction is completed.

Products and services offered by Advantage include:

  • A selection of popular well-maintained rental cars in a variety of sizes and types,

  • In-car GPS navigation system,

  • One-way rentals to any other Advantage location for an additional fee,

  • Available child seats in multiple sizes,

  • An array of Optional Insurance Products and Loss Damage Waiver offering protection for our customers, and

  • 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance.
