Oakland Airport Issues Request For Bids: Non-Exclusive Rental Car Concession
Mandatory pre-bid meeting to be held March 13, 2007; submittal deadline is April 18, 2007.
The Port of Oakland has issued a Request for Bids – Non-Exclusive Rental Car Concession for Oakland International Airport (OAK). Bid documents are available at the Port's Web site: http://www.portofoakland.com/business/bid_announcement.asp.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at Oakland International Airport. The bid submittal deadline is 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2007.
All on-airport rental car concessions operations are conducted at the Rental Car Center, consisting of a common customer service building within which the concessionaires maintain exclusive use customer counters and support offices. The customer service building is surrounded by exclusive use areas leased to each concessionaire for ready/return vehicle parking and customer service "booths."
OAK's $300 million Terminal Improvement Program includes the terminal roadway and curbsides project, which will improve access and ease traffic congestion. Program completion, expected in 2008, will accommodate the needs of OAK's over 14 million annual passengers.
OAK has over 200 flights a day on 12 domestic and international carriers to 40 nonstop destinations.
