A recent Harris Interactive poll conducted for WSJ.com found that rising gasoline prices in the U.S. are causing adults to change their lifestyles.

According to the chart, "Changes Due to Rising Gas Costs," 59 percent of U.S. adults are minimizing unnecessary travel, only traveling when it is critical.

Forty percent of adults are adjusting their spending habits to compensate for the rise in gas prices. For those people who planned leisure road trips, 32 percent are putting that off due to the jump in gas costs.
